At Last, The Last

And just like that we've come to the close of another calving season... year... season of the year.

What ever you want to call it, the last Momma calved a couple weeks ago!

The Momma is Robin, that pretty roan cow back yonder in the picture above.  Her little baby is doing wonderful.  We are lucky to have such a good heard.  They have small calves that, most of the time, hit the ground running.

I took these pictures below a few days ago since the baby is quite a bit older now.

She's a little cutie.  Oh did I mention the new baby is a heifer... That's 9 heifers and 2 bulls total.  Year of the heifer indeed!

I'd like to do a post soon of how the calves look now they are a bit older.  Kind of a recap of all the little boogers.  This may be a challenge since some of them are in the summer pasture where escaping from portraits are much easier.  But hopefully that post will be coming soon!

Kitty Bittys

Kittens are in the air... or barn.. or in this case bucket..

We've got a litter of 3 (maybe 4) fluff balls.  My dad found 1 of the little rascals 2 nights ago roaming around the barn meowing his poor little kitty heart out.  We brought him up to the porch and gave him a little milk.  We weren't totally sure of where his mother was or if she was even still around.  Then I went back out to the barn and saw 2 other little munchkins romping around with Momma following close behind.  So I brought little Bubba back out to the barn and they've been a happy little family since!
